Suggested Use

Moisturizer:
Apply a small amount to clean, damp skin and massage.

Facial Cleanser:

Apply small amount of whipped tallow and massage it into face.
Soak small towel or wash cloth with very warm water and ring out.
Drape the wet cloth over face and let it sit for about 1 minute.
Gently wipe down your face with the cloth.
Rinse with cool water.
For added hydration, apply thin layer of Tallow Face Cream, Tallow Body Butter, Organic Whipped Tallow or any of our face serums.

What does tallow do for skin?

Tallow closely resembles human skin lipids, making it deeply nourishing and supportive of the skin barrier.

Does it contain water or emulsifiers?

No. Because these formulas contain no water, they do not require emulsifiers or fillers. This allows us to keep the ingredients simple, concentrated, and highly beneficial for the skin.

Is this whipped?

Yes, it is whipped for a soft, airy texture that melts into skin.

Can this be used on baby's skin?

Yes, this is formulated to use even on baby’s delicate skin.

Where is your tallow sourced from?

Our organic tallow from suet is exclusively sourced from Fatworks.

Why are dermatologists against tallow?

Some dermatologists prefer ingredients backed by large clinical studies, while others generally advise against using beef tallow on the face because it is heavy and highly comedogenic (pore-clogging), which can trigger cystic acne. Additionally, unregulated tallow products lack preservatives, posing a risk for bacterial contamination, and their composition can easily vary, potentially causing irritation. For our tallow, we always use certified organic grass-fed and grass-finished tallow. We also use frankincense resin in many of our tallow products to help fight again acne prone skin and we never use any ingredients that would promote the growth of bacteria. For greasy skin, we recommend a plant based oil formula with frankincense resin like our Quad Blend Facial Serum.

Does tallow age your skin?

No. Tallow is commonly used to support moisture and skin barrier function.

Why did people stop using tallow?

People moved away from tallow-based skincare as commercial beauty products became more popular. Manufacturers began favoring petroleum-derived ingredients, synthetic additives, and products with longer shelf lives that could be mass-produced. More recently, plant-based beauty trends and vegan lifestyles have also contributed to the decline of traditional animal-based skincare. Today, many people are rediscovering grass-fed tallow for its simple ingredients and skin-nourishing properties.

What is Organic Vanilla Bean Whipped Tallow used for?

It is used to deeply moisturize dry skin while providing a light natural vanilla aroma.

Does beef tallow help with rosacea?

Beef tallow can be helpful for some people with rosacea because it’s rich in skin-compatible fatty acids that closely resemble the skin’s natural sebum. This makes it deeply moisturizing without relying on synthetic emulsifiers or fragrances that often trigger sensitivity. For some, tallow helps support the skin barrier, which is important in rosacea since a weakened barrier can lead to increased redness and irritation. When the barrier is stronger, skin tends to be less reactive and better able to hold moisture. That said, rosacea is very individual, while many people tolerate tallow well, others may find it too heavy depending on their skin type or flare triggers. Patch testing is always best before regular use.
