25 drops of Essential Oil of Choice like Bergamot, Lavender or a Citrus. 15-20 drops for stronger scents like Frankincense, Clove, Rosemary, etc. You can always add more when you whip.
Equipment:
Stand Mixer with Whisk Attachment or Hand Mixer
Medium Size Glass Dish – Pyrex or similar
Medium Size Pot
Kitchen Scale
Spatula
4oz Amber Glass Jar
Directions
Place medium size pot on stove and fill with 1-2 cups of water.
Place glass bowl on kitchen scale and tare.
Measure out tallow in the glass bowl and place on top of water-filled pot.
Put heat on low and allow the tallow to slowly melt
Once the tallow has fully melted, remove from heat and pour into stand mixer bowl or if you are using a hand mixer, leave in glass bowl.
Wait 10-15 minutes to add carrier oil. This allows the tallow to decrease in temperature to not degrade your carrier oil.
Stir to combine and let rest until the oils are about room temperature (about 1 hour). You can place in refrigerator, but keep your eye on it so doesn’t full harden.
Add essential oils
Whip until you get a frosting consistency – about 20 minutes, scraping down sides as needed.
