Discussing federal overreach on farming in the United States.
At Rosy Hill Organics, we recently traveled to Washington, D.C. to join fellow farmers from all across the United States to voice our concerns directly to lawmakers and their staff about the Food Security and Farm Protection Act (formerly the EATS Act). This dangerous provision, currently included in the House Farm Bill, would override state-level agricultural laws like California’s Proposition 12 and eliminate states’ rights to set their own pre-harvest conditions – for animal and produce, that include animal welfare and food safety standards.
As a small, values-driven farm, we’ve worked hard to build trust with our community by raising animals humanely and sustainably and growing produce without chemical assistance, the way God intended. Animals deserve space to roam, fresh grass to eat, and bugs to nibble, keeping our soil rich and pests at bay. And most importantly, you deserve food that was raised without chemicals and lived a happy life.

...happy tastes better
Our customers want to know where their food comes from and how it was produced—and they deserve to make informed choices. This legislation threatens that transparency, catering instead to large industrial agribusiness interests.
We strongly urge Senator Lindsey Graham and Representative Ralph Norman to stand with South Carolina farmers and oppose the Food Security and Farm Protection Act. State rights, ethical farming, and local food integrity must be protected. Keep the federal government out of farming.
