Why is Garlic from China bad?

Rosy Hill Organics - USA Organic Garlic

I recently ran out of granulated garlic, which led me to look for a replacement. I had been hearing that garlic from China was bad and to steer clear, but I hadn’t taken the time to research. I was under the illusion that if something was marked USDA Certified Organic, that it was good. Boy, was I wrong! Here’s what I found:

Chinese garlic is heavily fumigated with methyl bromide to get rid of any bugs. Methyl bromide is a very toxic hazard. Exposure to high concentrations can cause damage to the respiratory and central nervous systems, even death. Imported garlic is often grown in sewage water and human sewage is specifically used as an inexpensive fertilizer.

Every time imported garlic from a specific country is tested, it tests positive for toxic chemicals, pathogens and heavy metals including: lead, arsenic, chlorine, methyl bromide, melamine, E Coli, and the list goes on. This made me want to gag. I started researching companies that I have used for years only to find out they were selling Chinese garlic, with organic labeling. I was so disgusted that I had been feeding this to my family.

This took me on an exhaustive journey to find USA-grown, certified organic granulated garlic, but I quickly hit many dead ends. From Amazon to Walmart to Vitacost and even Azure, and beyond, I could not find one place that sold certified organic USA grown garlic. To make matters worse, most certified organic products on Amazon are not actually organic even though they bare the logo. The USDA provides their own Certified Database where you can verify any product for certifications. I spent hours looking up each product, hoping they were legit, but came up empty handed.

I turned to Google to help me out and successfully found a bulk option that would allow Rosy Hill Organics to offer our community the best and highest quality garlic you can find. It is certified organic, non-gmo, kosher and re-packed into 3oz packages for you to refill your spice jar. We hope that you try our garlic and love it as much as we do!
