Do you hate all the cleaning chemicals as much I do? Who knows what is in toilet bowl cleaners!? Several years ago, this hatred led me to find a natural solution for refreshing and cleaning our toilets. Toilet Bombs are made from baking soda, citric acid and essential oils – all which are edible! All you need is a bowl, some measuring spoons, silicone mold or ice cube tray with silicone bottoms, a spoon and less than 10 minutes! You will need to “cure” them for 24 hours, but after that you’ll be left with 12 – 24 little tabs/cubes to refresh your toilets!
Here’s the recipe:
Ingredients
- 1 1/3 cup baking soda
- ½ cup citric acid
- 1 tsp water
- 30 drops Lavender essential oil
- 30 drops Peppermint essential oil
Directions
- Mix Baking Soda and Citric Acid together
- Add water slowly so it doesnt fizz
- Mix in bowl and add essential oils
- Place in molds – approx 2TBSP per tab
- Press into mold firmly – a spoon or fingers work well
- Let sit 24 hours to cure.
- Store in airtight glass jar.
